Originally built for Rhodesia as DX784, but delivered to RAAF. Later VH-BVU. With Art Scholl Aviation (California). Wore a blue scheme with large yellow serial. Looked more USN than RAAF. US registration N350JT Aircraft purchased and under restoration in Canada by S. Jamie Wilson. Canadian registration CF-AHM 10/2019 From the current owner Doug Watson of Lindsay Ontario.
I wish to update your information on this Tiger Moth aircraft A17-695. It was owned by Jamie Wilson who brought it into Canada in 2002 or there about. He kept it till 2013 or 14 having done much of the wooden restoration parts; the turtle deck, and cockpits, and much of the control box. His AME had moved across the country to BC and he had other interests as well, so sold the project to a Transat pilot who lived in Gatineau across the river from Ottawa.
He and his wife separated and he then sold the tiger moth to me in April 2015.
I didn t get to restoring it until that November, and because of the weather I had to take some time to insulate and improve my garage for spray painting etc. It is just about ready to be inspected for a Canadian C of A. The engine is the last thing to put together and install. I am hoping that by the end of the year it will be licenced. It won t get flown until the snow melts and the ground dries out next spring, but that is the timeline.
It has been painted trainer yellow with the original insignia along the fuselage and roundels on the wings.
