Forward Fuselage and wings damaged by firies over years when left at Tadji and by 1974, only the rear fuselage was retrieved and returned to Australia with other Beauforts. It was partly restored and displayed in Melbourne before being moved incomplete, on display at Museum of Army Aviation, Oakey QLD. By 2014 it had been purchased by the Moorabbin Air Museum where it is on display now from Jack Macdonald. Contradicting what is printed on their site about this a/c, 1/ it never served in Singapore, and 2/ did not have a landing accident at Tadji in 1945. Note: forward fuselage/cockpit is stated from A9-210 and it is this cockpit on display there. A9-210 crashed landed at Tadji 13/07/44. Note also as rear fuselage is stated as being A9-13 and yet, it never served in 6 Sqn RAAF, aka faded markings show FX-B at Army Museum as FX-B (https://www.flickr.com/photos/88572252@N06/32421298728), yet did not carry these markings in 1988 when painted in undercoat at Essendon (Reference: www.airhistory.net/photo/124564/A9-13 by Geoff Goodall). Original Charles Darby photos per 1974 show HK-B, not FX-B. Picture Reference A9-13 per HK-B   "Pacific Aircraft Wrecks" Charles Darby ISBN 085800357 @1979 Page 25. Per AWM/RAAF Code indexes, there are no Unit code letters for 8CU nor 1OTU. GRB Opinion is that FX-B was added later in 1990s.

This is one of the most sadest, yet spectacular mid-air accidents ever to be caught on film. Three aircraft from SHQ Nowra Base Torpedo Unit were participating in a formation flypast for a party of accredited war correspondents* that were on a ship in Jervis Bay, near Nowra, NSW. With a fox Movietone camera filming the three aircraft flew at low level down along the port side of the ship performing a "Prince of Wales" breakup. Beaufort A9-27, flying in the middle of the formation, began a gentle climb while Beaufort A9-268, flying to his immediate right came along side. The tip of the left wing of A9-268 struck the tail plane of A9-27, which was then torn off of the aircraft as a result. While not receiving much damage Beaufort A9-268 then commenced a left turn, which ended with the aircraft rolling on to its back and plunging nose first into the sea not far from the ship. Immediately after the crippling collision A9-27's climb steepened but it was uncontrollable and the aircraft soon lost the power to stay airborne and it too plunged into the sea nose first not far from the place were the first aircraft fell.
